Clothed contact II - from 2023, ongoing
In the continuation of my work group „Clothed Contact“, I now work with self-printed materials, in contrast to the previously found materials. This increased autonomy allows for more experimentation with the shape and size of the wooden objects.
The objects are covered with the printed fabrics, with the different orientation of the fibres enhancing the depth effect. This results in a fascinating interplay of light and shadow. Depending on the perspective, the spatial form alternates between appearing flatter or more three-dimensional than its actual structure.
The back sides of the objects are painted, whereby functional elements such as clasps or connections are reduced as far as possible and organically integrated into the overall design. This approach ensures a cohesive and visually engaging presentation from every angle.
